The People Paradigm is the ability to transform organisations in terms of performance, results, creativity and resilience by accessing the vast reservoir of untapped potential in the workforce.
So how would it be in your business if each and every one of your employees turned up for work with a presence and a clarity that enabled them to deal with the issues and challenges that are thrown at them in a way that seemed effortless and stress free. If they brought wisdom, ideas and creativity with them and applied it to the work that they do. If they could bring passion and enthusiasm to each and every situation.
Where that might seem to be far-fetched it is clear that it is possible and indeed essential for today’s businesses to make much greater return on its investment in its people. To be able to do that in a way that not only benefits the business in terms of performance and results but also benefits the people in terms of reducing stress and generally producing a healthier and happier workplace would seem to be a no-brainer.
So how is this miracle achieved? Well there are no tools and techniques to learn. The People Paradigm is achieved by pointing your people towards a simple misunderstanding in the way that they believe that their day to day experience of life is generated. There is a prevalent view in society that our experience of life is generated by our circumstances. Things happen in the world out there that make us feel happy, sad, loved, hated, stressed, calm, fearful, angry etc. This view is so universal that if, for example, someone came to you and said I’m feeling stressed your natural reaction would be to ask “Why’s that?”
But that isn’t the way it works. The People Paradigm is brought about when your people start to realise that our experience is not determined by external pressures and circumstances but rather that we create that experience ourselves from the inside to out.
We humans are the ultimate virtual reality machine. We take in millions of bits of data every second through our senses then our incredible brain processes that data amalgamating it with our thinking, beliefs and understanding of how the world works and creates its view of what the reality out there is. We then assume that reality to be absolute and our experience and feelings are based on that reality we have created ourselves. That gives us license to blame things happening out there for our experience.
But when we become more aware of how we create our own reality we can start to see through that. We can see that our experience is being generated moment to moment by the thinking that we have and we also become aware that we are only one insight, one new thought, away from a totally different experience of whatever is going on.
As your people start to see through this misunderstanding, their minds become less cluttered and they find it easier to access that inner wisdom and creativity that leads to performance and results and ultimately to organisational transformation.
